ACP Attendance and Tardy Policy

Tardy Policy

Students who are late must serve detention according to the criteria below:

0 - 20 minutes late: Detention during break in room 207
More than 20 minutes: Friday Make-up

Detention must be served at the AM break (9:30-9:50) if the student was tardy to their morning class. They must serve detention at the PM break (1:30-1:50) if they are tardy to their afternoon class. Students that leave the school premises during the morning or afternoon break will not be allowed to return to their classroom that day.

Students have exactly two minutes from the time the break bell rings to get to room 207. We will use a stop watch to be accurate. If they do not make it on time they will be written up with a reprimand and sent to the office. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!

Students who do not attend detention or do not arrive within the two minute time period will have to serve two consecutive detentions beginning the same day of the offense. If a student is absent at the PM session or on the last day of school week they must serve their detentions the next school day. A detention slip will be given to them within an hour of their offense stating the date, day, and time they are required to attend detention. If they do not serve both detentions as instructed, they will be suspended for 1 school day.

Absence Policy

Students who do not attend one or more classes must make up the time and work on Friday according to the following criteria:

1. Time must be made up the week of the absence or tardiness! If that is a problem students must see Fil before Friday to make arrangements if necessary.

2. Students are required to make up time on Fridays if they:

• Were more than 20 minutes late to class 1 time or more in that week
• Were absent from any class in that week

3. Missing 1 class (1/2 a school day) = 2 hours make up time on Friday
    Missing 2 classes (a full school day) = 4 hours make up time (8:00AM-12:00PM)

Being over 20 minutes tardy 1 time  = 2 hours make up
Being over 20 minutes tardy 2 times = 2 hours make up
Being over 20 minutes tardy 3 times = 4 hours make up
Being over 20 minutes tardy 4 times = 4 hours make up

4. If students have any concerns or problems have them see Fil or Betty in the office.

Friday School Rules: 2 Sessions

Students may choose which session they would like to attend if they only have to make up 2 hours. Students needing to make up 4 hours must arrive for session one and two.

First Session: 8:00 am – 9:55 am
Second Session: 10:05 am – 12:00 am

Students must be on time to either make up session. If students are late to Friday School they will be turned away.
